Self Report: How to Analyze
Analyzing Self-Report Questionnaires can be confusing whether you are in Qualtrics, Excel, or SPSS. This tutorial should save lots of time for future research assistants. Let's get started!
1. Qualtrics is a common software online for delivering various surveys for easy to access data. This video will give a tutorial on how to export data from Qualtrics as an SPSS and Excel output.
2. Once data is SPSS or Excel, the data needs to be scored according to the various questionnaires. The instructions for scoring can be found in the questionnaire manuals.
3. Now that the data has been scored it can be analyzed. Analysis starts with Excel and looking for outliers with scatterplots. Later in the analysis process, correlates between 2 variables can be found. View this tutorial for how to analyze data in Excel.
4. Once scatterplots have been created and looked at, it will be helpful to look at SPSS for histograms to determine if the data is normal. Also, bar charts are easily made in SPSS to look at change over time. This video tutorial will show how to graph in SPSS.
5. Now that outliers and homogeneity has been established, let's look at the statistics behind the scenes. This video tutorial will show how to do data analysis in SPSS.
